A native West Texan, Derek graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering in 2001, and in 2004 received his MBA from Texas Tech University. He has spent the majority of his career in the Oil & Gas Industry with 100% of his time focused in the Permian Basin Region. In March 2006, Derek became part owner in Chem Tech Services along with Todd Latham. Since his acquisition, Derek has been dedicated to developing a corporation that will provide employees a stable place to work, to be challenged and to flourish in their careers. He places high value on each employee and their development in the Oil & Gas Industry. Under the current ownership team, Chem Tech Services has become one of the largest independently operated oil and gas chemical companies in the Permian Basin with a vision to continue seeking growth opportunities within and beyond the Permian Basin. Derek resides in Lubbock, TX, where he and his wife Morgan are raising their two children, Gage and Berkley. Derek and Morgan are active in their church community, kid’s activities and several outreach ministries.
Darren was born and raised in West Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor and Master Degree in Environmental Engineering in 1997. Darren spent 7 years working as a licensed professional engineer on civil engineering projects throughout the state of Texas. Darren began his oilfield chemical experience in 2004 at Nalco as a field account manager and expanded to District Sales Manager in the following locations: Permian Basin, Barnett, Haynesville, and Eagle Ford shales. In February 2012, Darren joined the Chem Tech Services, Inc. ownership Team with Derek Waters, Todd Latham, and Jimmy Payton. Under the current leadership team, Chem Tech Services has grown into one of the largest independently owned and operated oil and gas chemical companies in the Permian Basin. Darren resides in Midland, TX where he and his wife Tammie have raised two children, Courtney and Bryce.
Born and raised in West Texas (Levelland), Jimmy graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master of Science Degree in 1997. His entire career has been in the Oil & Gas Industry, specifically in production, frac, and water treatment chemicals and services. Jimmy’s career began in 1997 at Nalco as a field account manager in West Texas and expanded to Regional Manager over a large portion of the United States. His experiences ranged from stripper production, water flood, CO2 flood, EOR projects, water treatment projects, and frac experiences in various parts of the United States. In February 2012, Jimmy joined the Chem Tech Services, Inc. ownership Team with Derek Waters, Todd Latham, and Darren Waters. Since joining the Chem Tech Team, Jimmy has been focused on developing a Company that offers a high standard of technical expertise coupled with unparalleled service for customers. Jimmy and the ownership group at Chem Tech truly values each employee and their families as they are truly what makes Chem Tech successful and a unique place to work. Chem Tech Services has become one of the largest independently owned and operated oil and gas chemical companies in the Permian Basin because of phenomenal employees and great customers. Jimmy resides in Greenwood (Midland), TX, where he and his wife Trina are raising their three children, Taylor, Karsyn, and Dylan. Jimmy and Trina are active in their church, children’s activities, youth sports, and local community events.
Todd has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University. Todd began his career in oilfield chemicals in 1997. Todd spent 8 years with Nalco Chemical Company as an account manager where he experienced a wide range of applications from water floods and CO2 floods. Todd and Derek Waters purchased 100% of the stock of Chem Tech Services, Inc. from the previous owners in March 2006. As Vice President and Secretary of Chem Tech Services, Inc. Todd has also encountered many challenges as the corporation has expanded since 2006. Todd and Derek sold 50% of their ownership in Chem Tech in 2012 to Darren Waters and Jimmy Payton and retained 25% each.
